Big Ten Basketball Schedule Released; Penn State Shafted

The Big Ten announced its men's basketball conference schedule today and, to put it bluntly, Penn State fans should be in an uproar. Arguably Penn State's two biggest home games of the year, versus Purdue and Michigan State, will occur three days within each other. The dates? January 5 and January 8. The problem? Everyone will still be home on winter break, a schedule disappointment for all the seniors this year.

The Freshman Student Handbook

When I picked up a copy of the new Student Handbook, the first thing I felt was frustration. This could have been really helpful to me when I was a freshman. It would have been useful to me two weeks ago, actually.

IFC Trains Greeks on New Social Policy

While everyone else has been enjoying a nice, simple syllabus week during the first week back at Penn State, the Interfraternity Council has been busy working to get Greek men trained on the new IFC Social Policy. IFC VP for Risk Management, Tom Piarulli, is holding training sessions every evening this week to certify Greek men for becoming Greek Event Monitors for their social functions. This new system replaces the previous one which made security guards mandatory at social functions. The new IFC Social Policy gives the accountability back to the chapter members to maintain a safe and organized environment for all social events.
