
At first-glance, Governor Tom Wolf's budget proposal looked as though it was beneficial to Penn State as a whole, but upon closer review, students' wallets may be taking a hit after all.

In his proposed state budget released today, Wolf appropriated $263.7 million for the university for an increase of 23 percent over last year's appropriation by Tom Corbett. The budget still has to get through the Republican-dominated legislature, which may see Penn State's take decrease before it is approved.

The Student Financial Education Center is officially open for business. The SFEC, created collaboratively by UPUA and University Libraries, was founded back in January to provide students with advice on budgeting, student loads, and more.

Last night's UPUA meeting featured a parliamentary procedure mess amongst a slew of legislation.
