Brandon Rittenhouse Named 2015 Homecoming Executive Director

It seems like it was just yesterday that the 2014 Homecoming parade rolled down College Avenue and the Nittany Lions took on Northwestern in Beaver Stadium.

But 2014 Homecoming has come and gone, and planning for the 2015 edition has to get started early. Yesterday, 2014 Merchandise Director Brandon Rittenhouse was selected as the Homecoming 2015 Executive Director after a lengthy process.

Rittenhouse’s committee most notably introduced two very popular items to Homecoming’s merchandise this year. The “S” crew neck sweatshirt and the hockey-style hoodie, which are still on sale, could be seen everywhere on campus since they were first made available last spring.

Rittenhouse was chosen following an application and interview process with Homecoming’s faculty and staff advisors, as well as 2014 Executive Director Claudia Bonilla.

“The process starts by submitting an application, and interviews were held today,” Bonilla said. “It was a difficult decision for the advisers and I but we feel confident that Brandon will do an amazing job.”

Rittenhouse will first select his executive committee in mid-November before beginning preparations for Homecoming Week. The week-long celebration will take place starting Oct. 4, 2015, culminating in Penn State’s matchup with Indiana on October 10.
