ESPN’s John Buccigross Comes To THON

John Buccigross, is, plainly, the man. An enigmatic and colorful ESPN anchor and broadcaster, his Bucci-isms like, “on the top shelf where momma hides the cookies” after dirty hockey snipes and #BucciOvertimeChallenge have made him a fan favorite.

This weekend, Bucci is in State College calling the high-profile Minnesota-Penn State hockey series for ESPN. Penn State dropped Friday night’s contest, but that certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of those across the street from the Pegula Ice Arena at THON 15.

It’s hard to miss THON when it’s underway, and that wasn’t lost on Bucci. Ever the man about town, he tweeted out a feeler to see how it was in University Park’s other arena.

The responses were unanimous — THON isn’t to be missed.

He didn’t need much convincing.

Bucci wasted no time making the most of his first THON, adding a nice touch with a #theyare hashtag. He produced some solid handiwork:

Always cool to see THON getting some attention from national personalities. Thanks for stopping by, Bucci!
