Even YOU Can Help Beat Michigan State This Week!

PSUMSUBLOODI bet that by now you’ve probably been handed 2389 fliers for the PSU – MSU Blood Donor Challenge.  I also would bet that 2388 of them ended up in the trash (the other one was accidentally washed after someone left it in their pocket). That’s somewhat understandable – I mean, who really pays attention to what’s written on those fliers anyway?

Well, here’s something that you won’t find on those fliers, so pay attention:

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOSING TO MICHIGAN STATE.

Bet THAT got your attention. Why? Because Penn State students can’t stand losing. We thrive on competition here in Happy Valley. This is evident considering that we have beaten MSU in 10 of the 15 Blood Drive Challenges. We’re currently sitting pretty with 3 straight wins for the past 3 years.

How can you help to keep PSU on top of MSU for the 4th year straight?

DON’T LET THIS BE THE YEAR THAT WE LOSE TO MICHIGAN STATE.

Currently, Penn State trails 1,180 to 1,288. We need to collect over 785 units of blood in the next four days. If you are interested in donating, the blood drives this week will be in the HUB Alumni Hall. Monday will be from 10am to 4pm. Tuesday through Thursday will be 9am to 7pm.

We won’t lose this year – your competitive Penn State spirit won’t let it that happen… right?

Senior Writes Final Column

Senior columns, with all their melodrama and platitudes, usually leave me eye-rolling and shaking my head with a vigor usually reserved for study abroad blog posts. But, as I graduate a week from today, I figured I should give it a go myself. Rather than discuss the origins of Onward State like Evan,  I’d just like to briefly thank a few individuals who have defined my Penn State experience.
