Happy Birthday JoePa!
The living legend is celebrating his 83rd birthday today, and while Joseph Vincent Paterno may be in Florida at the moment like many other people his age, unlike them, he is still hard at work.
The winner of a record 393 DI-A football games, JoePa will be in search of 394 at the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida on January 1st. Other 83 year olds may be on the proverbial sidelines of life, lounging at the beach, but JoePa will be walking the real sidelines, actually living.
His accomplishments, both on the field and off, have been nothing short of spectacular. Does the Paterno Library ring a bell (SuePa is great too!)?
We, at Onward State, wish Joe Paterno the happiest of birthdays, and look forward to seeing him roaming the sidelines next season.

Senior Writes Final Column
Senior columns, with all their melodrama and platitudes, usually leave me eye-rolling and shaking my head with a vigor usually reserved for study abroad blog posts. But, as I graduate a week from today, I figured I should give it a go myself. Rather than discuss the origins of Onward State like Evan, I’d just like to briefly thank a few individuals who have defined my Penn State experience.
