Snowpocalypse: The Sequel

Did you enjoy all the snowfall we got over the weekend? Good, because State College is about to get whacked again. The National Weather Service is reporting that a snowfall will enter Happy Valley tonight and deposit another 5-10 inches of snow by Wednesday. Sound exciting? It should, there’s a possibility (however slight) that if the storm hits late enough Wednesday morning (2-3am) that Penn State might experience something even more rare than a winning season for the basketball team, a snow day. Campus Weather Service meteorologist, Dan DePodwin, said regarding the possibility of a snow day that while “I cannot give a definitive answer on cancellation of classes, given the forecasted weather conditions, at least a delay looks probable with the possibility of a snow day if the accumulated snowfall is near the upper end of the 5-10″ range.”

Even though my first class on Wednesday is at 2:30, I hope for all the poor souls that have 8AM’s that Dan is right. Either way, I love snow, so the more the merrier in my mind. For more information on the snowstorm and all campus weather follow Campus Weather Service on twitter @PSUWeather.

Three Words: For the Glory

When I sat back one night in January thinking about my time at Penn State, I tried to come up with a single word that would adequately describe my experiences here. As I attempted to determine what that magic word might be, my mind began to grasp the absurdity of that challenge. How could I possibly distill four years of my life, countless friendships, and untold numbers of memories, down to a single word? An impossible task to be sure. So instead, I took the easier road and went with three words: For the Glory.
