Arts Crawl: The Other Festival

While many of you may be looking forward to Movin’ On and Last Stop, there’s another spring festival coming up this weekend.

Arts Crawl 2010 will be held from 6-11:30 p.m. on Friday in the Arts Buildings in North Campus. Put on by Students Organizing the Multiple Arts and the Visual Art Student Allience, the multifaceted event is now in its fourth year. There will be performances by a dozen or so local bands, national acts No Age, artist Ira Sherman, as well as hands-on art demonstrations, student films, and an “epic dance party”.

The whole event is free and open to all. You don’t have to stay the whole time, so take an hour and check it out.

Here’s where you can find the bands and when:

Southern Kitsch and Sweet Tea at Cracker Barrel

After several months of anticipation, I was finally able to check out State College’s new Cracker Barrel on its opening day. Located at 215 Colonnade Blvd., there are few surprises at the chain’s new location. With rows of rocking chairs out front, checker boards and a game of peg solitaire at every table, I could have been at any franchise location in the country — not that that’s a bad thing.
