Cogster: Helping Main Street PSU

"How come we cannot invest in mom and pop businesses just as we invest in Wall Street?" A good question, really. Usually, the answer is, "because our return on our investment would be minimal." But is that always the case?

According to Steve Bisbee, President of locally-owned start-up Cogster, small investments will create quick working capital for the entrepreneur, which will be paid back in kind to the investor through goods and services offered by the company. Where does Cogster fashion itself into all this? Simply put, Cogster provides the platform to take the money legally.

No White House Game for 2010 Season

Late last week alumni season tickets were mailed out, all of the tickets had pictures of the Nittany Lion football helmet on them, except one. The ticket for the September 25th game against Temple had a picture with read "Everyone wear white." Many who saw this (including this author) then assumed that meant that the PSU-Temple game had been deemed the "White House" game for the 2010 season. This launched a storm of responses claiming that the game against the Owls (a team who hasn't beaten Penn State in over 50 years) didn't do the event justice. Many fans questioned why the Michigan game on October 30th wasn't the White House Game. It now appears that all this speculation was for naught.
