ATΩ Fights Dado Furnishing Charge

Alpha Tau Omega is currently in court, having been charged with furnishing alcohol to Joe Dado the night of September 19, 2009. As we all know, Dado was found dead behind the Steidle building after a 36-hour search. The fraternity has pled not guilty to that charge, claiming that the party Dado and his friends attended was not an official ATΩ-sponsored event.

SNL’s Seth Meyers to Perform at BJC

Saturday Night Live comedian and head writer Seth Meyers is set to do a stand-up act at the Bryce Jordan Center at 8 p.m. on September 17. Coming off a big Wednesday night at the ESPY’s, Meyers is ready to get Penn State to “laugh hysterically” in front of what should be a rather large crowd at the BJC.

University Park students can see the nine year SNL veteran for $9.99 with a valid PSU student ID courtesy of UPAC. Tickets will be available to the general public Friday, July 30 at 10 a.m. Additional information can be found on the event’s Facebook page.

The Paternoville Resort

Hey Paternoville campers! That comfortable pad of concrete you all sleep on just got a little more cozy. Construction crews have been hard at work tearing down the former Gate A in order to rebuild a more crowd-friendly entry gate in time for the September 4 kickoff versus Youngstown State.

Penn State students bought more season tickets in 2010 than any other school in the nation, so crowd flow and safety is a major concern. Part of a three-year project, Gate A will be remodeled to allow a greater number of individual entry gates and ticket kiosks, along with professional landscape details to top it off.

Women’s Gymnastics Team Hires New Coach

Following Steve Shephard's sudden departure from the Penn State women's gymnastics team, Athletic Director Tim Curley launched a national search for his successor. Today the Athletic Department announced that they have hired husband and wife duo Jeff and Rachelle Thompson as head and associate head coaches, respectively.

Update: Penn Stater Found Dead in Philly River

Update: WPVI is reporting that as of 3:30PM, the body of Saulius Kvaraciejus has been found in Pennypack Creek. Kvaraciejus drowned after falling off a pool float while rafting with two friends. Our original story is below.


A Penn State student, Saulius Kvaraciejus, has been reported missing in a Philadelphia waterway. According to philly.com, Kvaraciejus (along with two other men) was riding a blow-up pool float in Pennypack Creek. They went down a man-made waterfall, near Winchester Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard and Kvaraciejus and one other man fell into the water around 6:50 pm, police said.
