Baller Status: Royster Nabs Trending Topic Spot

Taking his place right between Jashley and Halloween Eve, Penn State record-holder Evan Royster nabbed a spot on Twitter’s worldwide trending topics Saturday night during the Penn State football game against the University of Michigan.

During his excellent performance in this weekend’s game, Royster nabbed the record for all time leading rusher for Penn State and earned his spot on Twitter, ostensibly attracting widespread (worldwide even!) attention due to the national broadcast of the game on ESPN.

And you know who wasn’t a trending topic this weekend? Cory Giger. Just sayin’.

Penn State and the Process of Life

To paraphrase Mark Twain: The reports of higher education’s death have been an exaggeration. American universities produce more research and relevant knowledge for the world at large than any other institutions I know of. Tuition may be too damn high, but over the long-run, undergraduate degrees are definitely worth the cost. But Penn State could be so much more. It used to be, I think.
