The Bryce Jordan Center is really trying to please the eclectic music tastes of the State College community. From tattooed rap artists to knighted piano players, Penn State students have an incredible line-up of concerts to look forward to this semester... and it's only January.

Elton John and his band are slated to perform their "Greatest Hits Live" concert on Sunday March 27, featuring some of Elton's best songs from his five-decade career.

Today, MTV News announced that Lil' Wayne will head back out on the road for his I Am Music II Tour, Billboard.com also ran a story about it. Among the dates listed is March 30th at Univeristy Park, where Wayne and gang will play the Bryce Jordan Center. However, an email from Bernie Punt, the BJC's marketing director, states that contracts have not been finalized. Should the concert take place it will be the first time for Wayne to perform at Penn State.

Music Monday: Albums for 2011

So 2010 has come and passed, leaving us with a variety of musicians who may be nobodies this year. If Ke$ha and Lady Gaga can keep up their weirdo facades for another year and Lil' Wayne and T.I. can stay out of prison (whoops, never mind T.I.), maybe 2011 will shine as another great year for the music industry.

We're tired of hearing the same lyrics from Katy Perry, we've listened to Vampire Weekend's Contra LP so much it has worn down, and we blasted Jay-Z until our neighbors complained. So what do we have to look forward to this year? My list of the albums that I'm hoping will sing my way through the next semester is after the jump.
