Want to learn the ways of snarky blogging and join the exciting world of Yammer this fall? Look no further, friend. Apply to join Onward State today.
In less than three years, Onward State has grown to be one of the most relied upon voices in the Penn State community. With nearly 6,000 followers on Twitter and more than 4,000 friends on Facebook, we serve Penn State students every day by publishing the content that interests them most. Whether it’s our coverage of student government, THON, or State Patty’s Day, Onward State engages readers with a fresh approach to student news. There’s no better platform than OnwardState.com to have your work read and responded to by students.
We are looking for about a dozen students to join our editorial team for the Fall 2011 semester. We have opportunities available at all levels, ranging from entry-level positions in our training program to editor positions with semesterly stipends. If you’re an experienced student journalist bored with the status quo, this is your chance to pursue exciting opportunities and develop new skills… but experience is not required! More than anything, we want people who will be excited to be a part of the Onward State community, both internally and externally.
Last spring, we announced that we had joined forces with StateCollege.com and Lazerpro Digital Media Group. This fall, we’re going to work even harder with them to lay a solid foundation for the future of Onward State. For the first time ever, we’re actively seeking business-oriented students to enter our organization as we embark on anĀ ambitiousĀ agenda of organizational expansion that includes the development of a student salesforce and marketing team. We’ve got big plans, so get involved now!
