Philly Happenings for Temple Weekend

Penn State students making the trip from State College to Philadelphia for Saturday’s noon football clash against Temple at Lincoln Financial Field will have plenty of entertainment options around the city before and after the game. Here are some big events to consider for those spending the weekend around Philadelphia:

  • Dayglow Philadelphia on the Temple campus at the Liacouras Center Friday, 6:30 p.m.
  • Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals at Citizens Bank Park Friday and Saturday 7:05 p.m., Sunday 8:05 p.m.

With the Phillies’ magic number to clinch their fifth straight National League East title down to two, one of these games could be a division clincher.

  • Big Sean and Lupe Fiasco at Mann Center for Performing Arts Saturday 7 p.m.
  • Blink 182 with My Chemical Romance at the Susquehanna Bank Center Saturday 7 p.m.
  • Philadelphia Union vs. Columbus Crew at PPL Park- Saturday 7:30 p.m.

The Union continue their push for the playoffs with a tough matchup against the Crew, who currently sit in first place in the Eastern Conference. Experiencing the atmosphere at PPL Park is something even a casual soccer fan must do at some point.

  • Dropkick Murphys Sunday at the Electric Factory- Sunday 5 p.m.

For anyone interested in attending any of these concerts or sporting events, tickets can be purchased here.
