View from Above: Ford Building

On the corner of Allen Road and Fischer Road lies the Ford Building. Home of the College of Health and Human Development, this eight story building is where communication science and disorders can be studied. This building had to be the easiest climbing expedition I have encountered so far–with the exception of the ladder that perfectly mimicked a wind tunnel.

But other than that, it’s just an elevator ride to the eighth floor and then up a flight of stairs to the maintenance room where the first level roof entrance is located. Behind a locked door is a ladder that leads up to the second level roof latch door. As awkward as all ceiling latch doors are to climb through, it’s views like this that make it worth it. Check out this mini gallery and stay tuned for more Views from Above to come.
