This 400,000 square foot multipurpose facility was established on January 6, 1996. Just across the street from Beaver Stadium on Curtin Road, this 16,000 seat center is known for hosting "circuses, sports exhibitions, family shows, commencements, lectures, and Big Ten Basketball, as well as some of the top-name performers in the music entertainment industry." Not to mention the location of THON's 46 hour dance marathon weekend.

Yesterday, college football coaching staff around the country huddled in their offices as fax machines became relevant again, if only for a day. The 2012 edition of National Signing Day had arrived as thousands of high-school football players decided where to begin the next chapter of their lives. Inside the Lasch Building at Penn State, the scene was slightly different from other schools without the head coach present.
This month, Penn State students have the opportunity to support charities through song and dance other than THON. Tonight, Penn State Thespians will present MasquerAIDS 2012, an evening of musical numbers from films in order to raise money for the AIDS Project of Centre County. The theme this year will be “From Screen to Scene,” and Thespians will perform segments and songs from Armageddon, Shrek, Titanic, Toy Story 3 and more.
Each week, I find myself longing for those two special hours every Wednesday night when our student government convenes in 302 HUB. I always find myself leaving confident that our school has been changed for the better. This week was no different, with two earth-shattering pieces of legislation brought to the floor and multiple personnel confirmations to ponder over.
