Full Press Release On Alleged Highlands Rape From SCPD

As has been reported by many State College media sources, DNA evidence has connected one man to three alleged rapes committed in the Highlands North area since August 2010. There have been no suspects identified. The State College Police Department press release states that "it is possible the offender has committed other rapes or assaults and/or has been involved in acquaintance or date rape situations that may have gone unreported" and that "this type of offender is likely to continue to commit these crimes if not identified and arrested."

We at Onward State encourage all of our readers to stay safe both in the Highlands area and anywhere in State College at night, especially after a night of partying. While it might sound preachy, we urge you all to read this release, educate yourself about the situation and make sure you take all proper precautions so that an act like this isn't able to occur again.

Saint Patrick’s Day in Happy Valley

With Saint Patrick’s Day only a day away, many students may be asking themselves, “What can I possibly do to celebrate this holiday?” While in most cases, the number one answer is drinking excessively, there is plenty of entertainment in Happy Valley that will go hand in hand with the inebriation.
