Taking Back Sunday to Play Homecoming Concert

Penn State’s Student Programming Association announced this morning that the Punk/Emo band Taking Back Sunday will play at Penn State’s Homecoming concert on Sunday, September 30th at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall.  Tickets are $4.99 for students and $15 for non-students and will go on sale in the HUB on Monday, September 17. Before the concert, there will also be a dance competition from different student groups.

Taking Back Sunday is a hardcore rock band from Rockville Centre, NY founded in 1999.  Since then, the band has released five studio albums and has been featured  on superhero soundtracks like “Spiderman 2”, “Electra”, and “Fantastic Four”.  Some of their big singles include “MakeDamnSure”, “Cute Without the E”, and “You’re So Last Summer”.  Taking Back Sunday is also known for playing the Vans Warped Tour and even opened for Blink-182 on their first reunion tour.

With last year’s lineup consisting of Gavin DeGraw, David Cook, and Carolina Liar, it is very apparent that this year’s homecoming concert will be filled with heavy guitar licks, screaming vocals, and lots of moshing.
