Penn State was recently ranked no. 1 in social media among universities, which is hard to disagree with when you consider all the great accounts there are to follow out there. We compiled a list of the top 20 accounts you should make sure you follow on Twitter to keep you up to date on all things Penn State. These 20 accounts should provide you with the news, the laughs, and the updates to keep you going throughout your day.

Without further adieu, here they are:

@penn_state: The official Penn State account, giving you all of the big Penn State news, and once in a while, some pretty pictures. An obvious follow.

@GoPSUsports1: The official Penn State athletics account. Over the course of the year, this account will tweet game recaps, team updates, scheduling announcements, etc.

@THON: The official Penn State Dance Marathon account. Keeps you updated on all things FTK!

@Nittany_Nation: The basketball student section account. Gives updates on basketball games, and run by NN President and our very own OS writer, @maddyyypryor!

@nittanyvillepsu: The official Nittanyville account. Helps you stay on top of all the goings on at Gate A.

@Coach_Chambers: Penn State’s head basketball coach, Pat Chambers. When he’s not riding his golf cart around, you can usually find him on Twitter. Experience the ATTITUDE!

@AwkwardState: Everyone’s favorite Penn State “girl,” Awkward State keeps the laughs coming as it chronicles the life of a naive Penn State female.

@PSUQuiznos: Account for the Quiznos downtown. From time to time, the owner will offer a tweet deal, so be alert!

@KevinHornePSU: Our Managing Editor, Kevin Horne. He’s really cool (Editors Note: He’s not at all).

@RBecklerPSU: Our Penn State news editor, Ryan Beckler. He’s even cooler.

@UPUA: Your student government at Penn State. Sure, we make fun of them, but this account is always an interesting follow, especially during their weekly Wednesday night meetings.

@StateCollegecom: StateCollege.com gives you news for anything and everything State College. It’s worth following their writers @Ben_Jones88, @MinkNate and @LC_Nichols as well.

@evilbillobrien: A parody account of Coach Bill O’Brien. Lets you know what really goes on in BOB’s head. Master troll.

@PennStateProbz: The #PennStateProblems account. Lets you share your pain with other Penn Staters about the problems we have here in Happy Valley.

@Karl_rominger: Sandusky’s defense attorney Karl Rominger. Trivia lover, Zeno’s frequenter. You never know when he might be picking up the tab for everyone!

@iunlearn: Soc. 119 teacher Sam Richards. One of Penn State’s best known professors. If you even need random facts to make you think, he’s your man.

@SBench12: Backup quarterback. Probably the most entertaining follow on the football team.

@JayPaterno: The former Penn State coach is always tweeting about anything but Penn State. His signature tweets are pictures from his morning walks that exemplify the beauty of Happy Valley.

@AdamBreneman87: Top football recruit Adam Breneman. The man who has stayed true to Penn State through think and thin before he enrolled. The key recruit to Bill O’Brien’s first real recruiting class. Following Adam is your best way to keep updated on all things recruiting for PSU Football.

And last, but certainly not least,

@OnwardState: Duh! This is your place to get all of your news and opinions of what’s happening in and around Penn State, but you already knew that! We also have the most followers of any college media outlet in the world (I’m modest, I know).
