Top 10 Winter Styles on Campus

With the exception of earlier this week when students were walking around campus in shorts and t-shirts, December temperatures in State College are chilly. That means a whole different wardrobe for those long walks home after a late night study session.

Here’s a list of some of the standard outfits and clothing you’re seeing on campus:

10. Crazy Hat Guy/Girl

Sometimes the hats are pretty crazy. Other times the people are just crazy. Either way, they don’t venture out into the cold without something on top of their head. Supposedly, they just bottle in the heat.

9. Sweater Swag

I don’t know about any of you, but I’ve been seeing some fresh sweaters on campus. Some people can handle the cold with only a sweater on their back. Personally, a sweater and a jacket is a little much when you have to climb three flights of stairs in Willard. There’s some serious heat in that building.

8. Straight from the Gym

Cut-offs and shorts. If they’re cold, you’ll never know for sure. They’re jacked and ready to go.

7. Old Reliable

We all see people who wear the same outfit everyday. They have one sweatshirt that’s their go-to. These are the students who forgot their winter attire, but they’re okay with it. Let’s just hope they’re washing that thing periodically.

6. The “Don’t Mind” Look

While they’re not repping shorts, they aren’t exactly adequately bundled. But they don’t mind. A lot of these folks are from cold areas. T-shirts and jeans rule this style.

5. Bundled to the Max

Quite the opposite of 6, these people go a little overboard. Either they hate the cold or they’re from Cali (lucky). Plenty of scarves and heavy jackets here. Two pairs of gloves is a bit much though.

4. Spandex with Everything

Yeah…

3. Peacoat, Sweats, and Tims

This is generally a dude look, although the ladies can also rock the peacoat (probably with spandex). I always wanted a peacoat, but I never took the plunge. It’s a solid look. Laid-back, but ready for class.

2. SNUGG

Top girl style. Check this out.

1. Sweats All Day

We’re college kids. We like comfort, especially when we’re hungover. It’s not always the most stylish look, but it gets the job done.
