THON Announces Courtney O’Bryan Volunteer Award

None of us have forgotten the tragic death of Courtney O’Bryan on her way to a canning trip just over a year ago. And now, with the creation of the Courtney O’Bryan Volunteer Award, THON is making sure her legacy will live on forever.

According to THON, the award will “recognize the volunteer who most embodies O’Bryan’s charitable work and dedication to THON’s mission.” To win this award, the person must be an undergraduate Penn State student and a THON volunteer through a THON Committee, Commonwealth Campus, Special Interest Organization, General Organization, Greek Organization or Independent Dancer couple.

“It is important that we honor Courtney and the impact she made in the THON community,” said THON 2013 Overall Chair Will Martin. “This recognition will honor her compassionate spirit for years to come.”

Nominations are being accepted now through January 8 at 5 p.m. Here’s the link to download the application. The winner will be recognized at Road to THON Celebration as well as on stage during THON Weekend.
