Gameday Coverage: Penn State vs. Temple

Temple, Temple, Temple!

Penn State football heads just east for its first away game of 2026 against Temple at Lincoln Financial Field. The Nittany Lions haven’t encountered the Owls since 2016, but now, a decade later, the in-state contest resumes.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the matchup.

Television

The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 with Anish Shroff on play-by-play and Andre Ware on color commentary. Morgan Ube will report from the sideline.

Radio

Penn State Sports Network — Steve Jones, Jack Ham, Brian Tripp
Local: 99.5 FM, 103.7 FM, 1450 AM, Sirius XM: 123, 233, XM App

Weather

It’ll be a gorgeous 72° at the noon kickoff, with a RealFeel of 74°, according to AccuWeather. Cloud cover sits at 26%, with wind gusts up to 17 mph. The probability of precipitation is 1%.

Injuries

Since Temple is not a Big Ten Conference opponent, Penn State’s injury availability report is not required to be made available prior to kickoff.

Linebacker Alex Tatsch and tight end Gabe Burkle, who are recovering from severe knee injuries, missed the season opener against Marshall. Campbell said both players could return against Temple.

Lavar Arrington II had a “clean-up” surgery on his knee and is expected to be sidelined for the next four to six weeks.

Series History

The Nittany Lions hold a 40-4-1 all-time record against Temple. The blue and white have won 32 of their last 33 matchups with the Owls. That lone defeat came in 2015, when they lost 27-10. Prior to that upset, Penn State hadn’t lost to Temple since 1941.

Betting Lines

The Nittany Lions are 24.5-point favorites against Temple, according to DraftKings. The over/under is set at 51.5 points.
