Man Arrested for Entering Palmerton Apartments Naked and Masturbating

There was a doozy on the State College police wire earlier this afternoon.

Early this morning, at approximately 1:03 a.m., State College police responded to a complaint at the Palmerton apartment building on Beaver Ave. The complaint stated that a male had entered an apartment, went into a female’s bedroom, and started masturbating.

When police arrived, Chase Carmody, age 21 of San Diego, CA, was spotted running down the east stairwell of the apartment building. Officers chased Carmody and finally caught him in the parking garage of the Palmerton near the rear exit.

Police also discovered that Carmody entered a 2nd apartment last night.  That female resident of that apartment told officers that she was sitting in her living room when the front door opened. Carmody then entered her apartment, took several steps inside, and stood there nude. Carmody then fled when confronted by the resident.

Carmody was charged with with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Indecent Exposure, and Open Lewdness. There is no student with that name in the Penn State directory and no more information was provided by the police.

Penn State’s first president Evan Pugh was born in 1828 at Jordan Bank Farm, three miles south of the city center of Oxford, Pennsylvania, an hour west of Philadelphia in Chester County. One-hundred eighty-nine years later, an Oxford brewery is honoring one of the preeminent champions of “liberal and practical” higher education in the form of a delicious Porter.
