THON Hoops is Tomorrow

THON is quickly approaching, and this weekend definitely won’t let you forget that! At 1 p.m. tomorrow (before Chords for a Cure) in the Bryce Jordan Center, Penn State Men’s Basketball takes on Nebraska in the 7th annual THON Hoops Day.

Tickets are only $5 and 100% of the student ticket revenues will be donated to THON.

Many THON families will be in attendance, and there are special pre-game activities planned for The Four Diamond families, so be sure to get there early. The Dance Marathon will be recognized throughout the whole game, and all members of Penn State and the THON community are encouraged to attend this exciting day all FTK.

In terms of actual basketball, tomorrow should provide a decent opportunity for the Nittany Lions to earn their first Big Ten win, looking to build on a solid effort from Wednesday night that saw them come up 9 points short against the Michigan State Spartans. Like Penn State, Nebraska is also 0-5 in conference play, losing those games by an average margin of 13.2 points.

Following tomorrow’s contest, the next two games for Penn State are rather daunting as Pat Chambers’ squad hits the road to take on second ranked Indiana before hosting No. 11 Ohio State next Saturday. A win tomorrow would have the Nittany Lions feeling much better about themselves as they head to Bloomington.

Nittany Nation will be selling tickets in the HUB today from 10-3.

Staying Motivated in the 17th Hour

It’s the 17th hour in the BJC, and from the looks of it, it’s filled with energy and enthusiasm in the stands and on the floor. That being said, I know there are parts of the BJC that we can’t see from inside of THON, and I know there are some committee members that have shifts in places where there isn’t much going on, and times where standing just doesn’t sound so appealing anymore.
