Drunk, Sober, High
Welcome to the central hub of Onward State's THON 2013 coverage. Follow along here for everything going on at the Bryce Jordan Center this weekend at the 41st annual Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.
After a year of fundraising, months of planning and 46 hours of dancing FTK, this year’s IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon managed to shatter last year’s total.
The house lights fall and an array of color from stage lights dances over the crowd. Eyes, just full of tears from Family Hour, dry and become dilated with excitement. Bodies, once linked in a somber sway across the Bryce Jordan Center, break down into electricity as Go Go Gadget takes the stage at THON for the 6th consecutive year.
Ask anyone what the most emotional parts of THON are, and Family Hour will, year after year, certainly appear on that list. This year was no different as Four Diamonds families strolled across the stage at the Bryce Jordan Center and four shared their stories of their children's battles with cancer.
We last checked in with Ali Fogarty 10 hours ago when she was still anxiously waiting to see her family following a PASS System failure and huge line outside the Bryce Jordan Center. Since then, Fogarty has seen her loved ones twice and now feels "light years better," ready to take on and soak in the final four hours before sitting down.
Bill O'Brien wowed everyone one year ago at THON 2012 and came back for an encore performance today that was even more epic.
