Penn State Marketing Manager Jeff Fisher Fired

Jeff Fisher, the popular Marketing and Promotions Manager of Penn State Football and all Olympic Sports, was removed from his position last week, according to sources close to the situation. It is unknown at this point who will assume the responsibilities left behind after his dismissal.

Fisher’s main responsibilities were pregame and in-game promotions, as well as coordinating all events for Blue-White Weekend. It is still unclear how this year’s edition of Blue White Weekend, set for April 19-21, will be affected by his absence.

When he wasn’t driving his golf cart around campus or attending almost every sporting event, Fisher worked with students and helped them acquire internships within the Athletic Department. He was honored for his contributions to the Penn State community by being named the Homecoming Honorary Grand Marshal in 2010. He is also the son of legendary radio broadcaster Fran Fisher.

A representative from the Penn State Athletic Department, along with Fisher’s assistants, declined comment. Fisher could not be reached for comment.
