CATA Bus and Car Collide at Intersection

At 11:57 a.m. today, a car and a CATA bus were involved in an accident near the intersection of Hastings Road and University Drive.

A black 2003 Toyota Corolla ran a red light on University Drive, and the bus, attempting to make a turn during a green light on Hastings Road, collided with the car, according to State College Police Department Sgt. Todd Scholton.

All passengers on the CATA bus exited safely and unharmed, but the driver of the car complained of minor injuries, Scholton said during a phone conversation.

The intersection was blocked off for approximately 50 minutes as an officer cleared some debris from the middle of University Drive. Both vehicles were towed away, but it appears the car received the brunt of the collision.
