First, there was the freshman season football ticket fiasco in June. Now, students are having difficulty buying on-campus parking permits for the upcoming year.

Registration for parking permits opened at 8 a.m. today, but students were unable to access the website due to server errors.

In response to additional students expressing concerns about the parking website, Penn State tweeted to confirm that the website was down.

Penn State Parking proceeded to provide the following update at 10:44 a.m.

Below is a complete list of available student parking via Penn State Transportation Services.

Commuter: Lot 44, Stadium West and Porter North.  This permit is for off-campus students in need of campus parking for class and other campus activities but who have overnight parking at their off-campus residence.  With this permit, parking on campus between the hours of2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. is prohibited, seven days a week.

Long Term Storage: Lot 43. This permit is for off-campus students in need of overnight storage of their vehicles.  To be eligible for this permit, students must have completed at least 28 credits prior to the Fall 2013 semester or be enrolled as a graduate student.

With a valid commuter or long-term storage permit, additional lot access is available after 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Resident Core: Brown 11 (White Course Apartments), Lot 22 (Eastview Terrace), Lot 42 (Nittany Apartments), Lot 81 (Pollock and South Halls), Lot 82 (East Halls), YWH (Nittany Deck parking for West Halls residents).

Resident Long Term Storage: Lot 83 (available for all eligible on-campus students).
