Penn State has offered Vanderbilt's James Franklin the head coaching position and he is expected to accept it, according to a report from CBS's Bruce Feldman.
Penn State's head coaching search was over. And then it wasn't. And then it was again -- maybe. That's about how this week is going. Let me explain.
It stands to reason, then, that Penn State should look at the unranked teams like thirsty bloodhounds, hungry to pick up winnable games in order to fill out that postseason equation. But it wasn't to be last night against Minnesota, and who knows if it ever will be this season. Penn State hung with the Golden Gophers for the entire game, but ultimately came up short, losing 68-65 after leading for most of the second half.
Penn State receiver and State College native Alex Kenney knew that he wasn't returning to the football team in 2014, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to hit the gridiron again. So when Penn State takes on UMass next season during the non conference schedule, at least one player on the opposite side of the field will be familiar.
