California Tortilla Coming to Downtown State College

A new Mexican food option will soon be available in downtown State College – California Tortilla, a fairly new franchise based out of Maryland, will open a location on College Avenue at 322 W. College Ave. near Atherton Street.

Established in 2003, California Tortilla has more than 35 locations across five Northeastern states including the District of Columbia, according to the California Tortilla website. It advertises fresh, made-to-order, award-winning Cal-Mex classics such as burritos, quesadillas, and salads.

California Tortilla and the State College Borough’s office confirmed the expansion, but no date was given for when the location would open. Also, “Now Hiring” signs sporting the California Tortilla logo are posted in the windows of the location.

We’ll update when more details about the grand opening are available.
