Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Onward State! Aside from you readers, here is what our staff is thankful for this year.
Due to Wednesday's snow, Penn State announced today that the overnight RV lot will be closed Friday night prior to the Nittany Lions' matchup with Michigan State.
Finally, somebody from the football team is being recognized by the national media for their effort this season.
If what Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said in his Tuesday press conference holds merit, then the future is as bright as ever for Penn State. "I think Penn State itself, Coach Franklin, has a football team that's been extremely close. A lot of parallels probably with our season in 2012, losing a number of games by a total of 15 points," Dantonio said. "Maybe four games."
Boy, D.J. Newbill is something, isn't he? In front of a home crowd that made its presence felt late in the game, Newbill put up 29 points to lead all scorers, while posting five rebounds, five assists, and one steal in a 78-72 victory over Akron at the Bryce Jordan Center.
The Lady Lions fell to 1-3 after falling in a back-and-forth game against St. Bonaventure on Tuesday night, 56-54. Sierra Moore led Penn State in scoring with 15 points, tying her previous career-high. Lindsey Spann added another 13 points and five assists in the last-second loss.
