
After ranking the Phyrst among the best college bars in the country earlier this summer, Thrillist is back with another good review for a State College watering hole.

Penn State is known for it's diversity and that diversity is not exclusive to race, nationality, religion, and otherwise. Oh no, there are hundreds of personality types in and around campus on the daily. They live in your hall, they eat at the same commons as you, and you attend class with them. But it's no secret that some stick out more than others. Here's a run down of a few that you are sure to run into on your first day.

Earlier tonight at the annual Be A Part From The Start, Television personality Lara Spencer, the co-host of Good Morning America on ABC, was named the 2014 Homecoming Grand Marshal. Spencer graduated in 1991 following a successful All-American diving career, graduating with a degree.

First-year student Jack Crean, 18, of Boalsburg was found dead at about 11 a.m. Sunday in the HUB Construction site, according to university spokesperson Lisa Powers. She confirmed that Crean either jumped or fell from the crane in the construction site. The incident is still under investigation at this time, according to Centre County Chief Deputy Coroner Judy Pleskonko.

As is tradition, Penn State's student body president delivered new student convocation remarks at the Bryce Jordan Center to more than 8,000 new students.

Not the most normal of headlines, but the Icelandic volcano Bardarbunga could become quite the nuisance for Penn State and UCF as they prepare for their season opener in Dublin.
