What Are Dancers Listening To On The Floor?

The Entertainment Committee has been playing nonstop hits in its first year at the helm of THON’s music, but some dancers choose to listen to their own music. We scoured the floor of the BJC and asked dancers with headphones in what they were listening to. Here’s what they said.

Will Lowther, Alpha Kappa Lambda
“Sunshine and Whiskey” by Frankie Ballard.

Amy Wang, Sigma Omicron Pi
“State of Trance: Mexico City” by Dash Perlin. By the way, Wang’s phone said it was 8:45 a.m.

Tyler Davis, Acacia
Davis was trying to find some peace and quiet amidst the chaos on the floor. He had headphones in but wasn’t listening to anything.

Billy Nguyen, Lambda Phi Epsilon
Nguyen was listening to a Porter Robinson’s “World Tour Set.” It’s an hour and a half mix. That’s 3 percent of THON!

Reema Pangarkar, Zeta Tau Alpha
“I Don’t Wanna Be In Love” by Good Charlotte.

Jamie Hoke, Professional Golf Management
I asked Hoke what he was listening to and his face instantly flushed. “If you would have come one song later it would have been something normal! Wow, this is bad timing.” He was listening to “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson. No shame, Jamie.

Josh Hollamder, Lambda Chi Alpha
“Gimmie Three Steps” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Charlie Levan, Lambda Chi Alpha
When I approached Levan and asked what he was listening to, he gave a little laugh, shook his head, and said, “I don’t even know.” He checked his phone, and it turns out he was jamming to “Feel So Close” by Calvin Harris. Levan said he’s had his entire iTunes library on shuffle.

Andi Zak / Independent
“Shut Up And Dance” by Walk The Moon. Zak said that has been her jam.

Elenora White / Alpha Xi Delta
“Need Your Heart” by Adventure Club.
