Glee Actress Lauren Potter To Speak On Campus April 16

Actress Lauren Potter, best known for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester’s secretary Becky Jackson on “Glee,” will speak on campus at 7 p.m. on April 16 in 26 Hosler Building as part of SPA’s Distinguished Speakers series.

Potter, who has Down Syndrome, was recently appointed to the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities and has worked alongside the Special Olympics and Best Buddies International on the “R Word: Spread the Word to End the Word” anti-bullying campaign.

Following the end of “Glee” on FOX last month, Potter has been taking to stages to speak about her experiences in show business and with bullying. At the event, Potter will speak on having a disability in show business, followed by a question and answer session.

Potter caught the attention of the producers of “Glee” after appearing as Andrea Little in 2007’s “Mr. Blue Sky.” The actress recently starred in “Guest Room” which premiered last month at South By Southwest.

The event is ticketless, but students must present their IDs for entrance to the speech at the door.
