150th Anniversary Flavor Contest Runner-Up Strawberry Cheesecake Now Available At The Creamery

By: Caitlin Gailey

Ice cream lovers eat your heart out: the Creamery has added a strawberry cheesecake with graham cracker crust flavor to their menu. Strawberry cheesecake was the runner-up in the Creamery’s 150th anniversary flavor contest, but due to popular demand the Creamery has decided to include it anyway, according to Penn State.

“Though it finished second in the contest, those voters were quite serious about this new flavor and are supporting it as much as our birthday cake ice cream. We’ve placed our second order for ingredients,” said Creamery Manager Tom Palchak.

Birthday cake was the original winner, garnering 2,097 votes. Strawberry cheesecake with graham cracker crust came in second place with a total of 2,037 votes, losing by a mere 60.

What has made this flavor so popular is the “pillows” of graham cracker that are mixed in with the cheesecake. It was so popular in fact that, according to Palchak, in the future the Creamery’s variety of cheesecake flavors will include this special ingredient.

This new cheesecake with graham cracker crust flavor is available now, as is birthday cake. Though the contest winner doesn’t have an official name yet, fans can still submit potential their best ideas here.
