Penn State At Ohio State To Air Nationally On ABC

Penn State’s primetime clash at Ohio State on Oct. 17 will air nationally on ABC. The 8:00 p.m. matchup, against the current 4-1 Nittany Lions and 5-0, No. 1 Buckeyes, was slated for either ESPN, ESPN2, or ABC when it was first announced earlier this year.

It will be the Lions’ biggest game of the year thus far, and their first outside of Pennsylvania. Penn State will enter with only one other road game under its belt: The ugly loss to Temple in Philadelphia.

Penn State will also enter the Horseshoe looking to avenge its heartbreaking overtime loss to the Buckeyes last season at home. The 31-24 loss, in front of a sold out Whiteout crowd, saw Mike Hull tally 19 tackles and DaeSean Hamilton catch a Penn State record 14 passes for 126 yards.

Penn State is 4-0 at home, a first since 2008. It’s defense is thriving thanks to breakout years from Jason Cabinda and Carl Nassib. Its offense, however, has stagnated, and against a powerful Buckeyes defense, the Lions may struggle to score.

The last time Penn State traveled to Columbus, it suffered a 63-14 blowout in 2013. Ohio State will wear these all-black uniforms for this year’s affair.
