Penn State Athletics To Partner With American Red Cross For Annual Blood Drive

Penn State Athletics and the American Red Cross will partner again this year to host the Annual Beaver Stadium Blood Drive. The blood drive will take place on Tuesday, December 8 in the President’s Suite at Beaver Stadium from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is the sixth year of the Beaver Stadium Blood Drive. Steve Mavica, Communications Manager for the Greater Alleghenies Blood Services Region, says blood donations tend to decline around the holiday season. The annual blood drive works to ensure that blood is always readily available to those in need, no matter the time of year.

Donors will not only get the opportunity to help those in need, but they will always receive a free T-shirt and get entered to win four tickets to the Penn State football game on September 10 in Pittsburgh. Donors can also enjoy refreshments courtesy of DelGrosso Foods.

According to the Red Cross, a patient in the United States needs a blood transfusion every two seconds. If you want to give back this holiday season, you can schedule an appointment through the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org (using the sponsor code PSU), or call 1-800-733-2767. Free parking will be available in the Porter North lot. Donors are asked to enter through the Suites Lobby entrance off Porter Road.
