The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the appointment of Douglas Cavener as the next dean of the Eberly College of Science at its meeting in Beaver on Friday. Cavener, a professor and head of biology, has filled the role of interim dean since January.
President Barron's operating budget and tuition schedule proposal for the 2015-16 academic year, which the board will vote on later in Friday's meeting, includes no increase in tuition for in-state undergraduate students.

Hackenberg was named Davey O'Brien Award watch list, which goes to the top quarterback in college football, while Akeel Lynch was named to the Doak Walker Award watch list, presented to the top running back in college football.
