Tally Hour: A Reflection From An Alpha Chi Omega Sister

A sea of blue tank tops faced with a bright yellow sunshine took over the south side of the Bryce Jordan Center this morning. I was lucky enough to be one of the proud sisters of Alpha Chi Omega standing side-by-side with our Tau Kappa Epsilon brothers.

The wave of emotion that flowed through our section was something our Penn State family was familiar with; sadness, nostalgia, and thoughts of our beloved Tally overwhelmed each and every one of us.

Tally’s friends and family took the stage and their words, though brief, captured the perfect image of our sunshine. The wave of nostalgia that surrounded us quickly changed to a cheer of celebration.

The trials, tribulations, and heartache we have experienced in these past few months have been far from easy. During Tally hour, TKE and AXO stood together as more than just THON partners, but as a family, a family unlike any other. I think I speak for all my sisters when I say that the TKE men have been beyond supportive and we really couldn’t have done this without them.

This weekend, our Alpha Chi – TKE partnership is dancing not only for the kids and for the cure, but for our sunshine Tally Sepot.
