THON 2016 Fashion Show Lets The Kids Strut Their Stuff

The center stage in the Bryce Jordan Center quickly transformed into the perfect runway for Four Diamonds children to strut their stuff. Approximately 60 kids rocked their favorite THON-appropriate looks, walked to the edge of the stage, and posed with their diamonds up.

Despite the 55 degree weather and the body heat inside the BJC, this year’s fashion show theme was “THON’s Winter Wonderland.” The show’s participants lined up with their chosen escort from their paired organization and awaited to be introduced to the thousands of students awaiting them.

Girls in princess dresses, bright tutus, and headbands with neon pompoms graced the stage with twirls, hair flips, and of course, the occasional dab. With dreams of becoming veterinarians, athletes, and even one wish of being a guinea pig, the ladies shined with confidence and beauty on stage.

The boys were dressed nothing short than awesome with capes, neon colors, their favorite Penn State gear, and even their own Nittany Lion costume escorted by none other than our Nittany Lion. Lovers of sports and Penn State, the boys proved Penn State has a variety of recruits coming through in the coming years.

When a few participants were announced to be free of treatment or cancer free, the Bryce Jordan Center filled with a roar of celebration. After every introduction, each participant twirled or danced or dabbed their way to their “diamonds up” pose and had the crowd cheering.

The THON Fashion Show had the kids excited and had the crowd smiling along with them.
