You Could Spend A Day In Washington, DC With SPA

As part of its “Edventures” series, the Student Programming Association will take students on a trip to Washington, DC on September 24, dubbed “A Day In DC: An Excursion To The Smithsonians.”

Because this is a canning weekend for THON, Happy Valley will be pretty barren that weekend. If you aren’t going canning, this is a great opportunity to do some sightseeing without missing a night in frat land.

The trip will visit the Hirshorn Museum, National Air and Space Museum, National Gallery of Art, National Museum of Natural History, and National Museum of American History. Students will also have free time to explore the area around the Smithsonian museums to visit landmarks like the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the White House.

Any student can purchase a ticket for just $30, a fraction of what a MegaBus ticket to Washington, DC would cost you for the weekend. This fee covers transportation, as the museums are all free.

Tickets will be on sale September 14 and 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first floor of the HUB. All you need to purchase your ticket is a valid student ID, but keep in mind that your $30 must be in cash.
