Greetings from another rainy day in Beaver Stadium, Penn State fans! James Franklin’s Nittany Lions welcome first-year head coach D.J. Durkin and Maryland for Homecoming. We’ll have live updates throughout today’s noon contest on this page, including analysis, photos, tweets, and more. The game will air live on Big Ten Network. Here’s the media information you’ll need and here are our staff predictions.

Penn State wins 38-14!

11:00 — Maryland turns the ball over on downs after missing badly on a deep ball.

Second Quarter

End of half.

0:15 — TOUCHDOWN, BARKLEY! His 45-yard scamper makes it 24-14 to end the half.

1:16 — 

3:10 — Koa Farmer jars it loose and Penn State recovers!

6:06 — TOUCHDOWN MCSORLEY! He makes it 17-7!

12:20 — Tyler Davis extends his field goal streak and puts the Lions up 10-7.

First Quarter

End of quarter.

1:00 — INTERCEPTION! Brandon Smith picks it off!

2:20 — The Lions allow a few big gains, and Maryland begins to drive. DE Shareef Miller walks off gingerly after being tended to

7:13 — Perry Hills finds Ty Johnson for a 66-yard pitch and catch. 7-7.

12:15 — TOUCHDOWN, PENN STATE! Mike Gesicki hauls in the pass from McSorley to put the Lions on top 7-0.

15:00 — Trace McSorley finds Hamilton for a 21 yard pickup on a rollout. Barkley follows up with a big gain of his own to get the Lions across the 50.

Pregame

Irvin Charles seems to have found his place in Penn State’s offense. Look for him to get more work in the deep passing game.
