Democratic VP Nominee Tim Kaine To Campaign This Friday In State College

Update Oct. 19: Kaine will speak Friday at the HUB at 2:30 p.m. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.

On Friday, Oct. 21, Democratic Party Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine will pay a visit to State College. Kaine’s visit marks the second high profile Democratic Party candidate to visit the area following Chelsea Clinton‘s visit in September.

Kaine plans to outline Clinton’s plans to raise the minimum wage to a living wage and to combat climate change, along with plans for improving sustainable sources of energy, making public colleges and universities tuition free, and criminal justice system reforms to Penn State students.

“I am very excited to hear the Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine will be visiting Penn State this week. I think the event will give students a great opportunity to hear more about the future that a Clinton-Kaine presidency would offer them,” said Johnna Purcell, the President of Penn State Students for Hillary. “I highly encourage all students to come out and engage with this election by hearing Tim Kaine speak.”

The details for the afternoon event are still to be determined and will be released in the coming days. Attendees are asked to RSVP on the the Hillary Clinton campaign website to attend.
