Penn State-Wisconsin To Kickoff At 8:00 On FOX

No. 7 Penn State (10-2, 8-1 Big Ten) will take center stage at Lucas Oil Stadium next Saturday in Indianapolis. James Franklin’s Nittany Lions are scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. ET start with No. 6 Wisconsin on FOX.

Following Penn State’s epic second-half explosion for a 45-12 win over the Spartans, the College Football Playoff is now in sight. Not even the craziest optimist pegged the Nittany Lions for this level of success in 2016.

Paul Christ and Wisconsin (10-2, 7-2 Big Ten) trailed Minnesota 17-7 at the half, but ensured Paul Bunyan’s Axe would remain in Madison for the 13th-straight year in a 31-17 comeback victory. The Big Ten West champion Badgers own a slim 9-8 lead in their all-time series with Penn State, but the Nittany Lions claimed the last meeting between these two programs on the road in upset fashion, 31-24, in 2013.

Penn State and Wisconsin have quite a history despite not playing every year. With injured senior linebacker Michael Mauti’s No. 42 affixed to the left side of their helmets in 2012, the Nittany Lions pulled off an incredible 24-21 win in overtime on Sam Ficken’s 37-yarder.
