Finals Week Sucks, Take Advantage Of Free Stuff

Ah, finals week, one of the many times in the semester when you feel like your entire world is crashing around you. You can’t remember the last time you ate a real meal, had a good nights sleep, or maybe even showered. Although it might seem like the worst of times, it’s also a great opportunity to capitalize on free services Penn State offers students.

The libraries’ annual “DeStress Fest” will take place December 11-13. DeStress Fest, located in the lobbies of the Pattee and Paterno Library, will include a variety of games including bean bag toss, Wii, and puzzles. A free yoga class will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday. On Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. you can put down your books, and put behind your worries for a riveting storytime. In addition there will be free coffee, snacks, and art therapy offered during the week. At 6 p.m. each day of DeStress Fest, the library will host a short dance party to give students a chance to juju away their problems. Events not located on the first floor lobbies will be held in 103 Paterno Library from 3-8 p.m.

Pollock residence halls will be hosting study breaks at the beginning of the week. December 11 there will be an ice cream study break at 2 p.m. and free massages from 2-5 p.m. Breakfast snacks will be given out at 8 a.m. December 12, and pizza will be served at 8 p.m. December 13.
Whether you’re crawling to the end of the semester or have an inflated sense of security in your exam performance, Penn State has something for you. Across campus there will be free services and food offered so take advantage of it while you can and may the odds be ever in your favor.
