Discern PSU Presents Richard Alley

Discern PSU presents “Why I do What I do” lecture series that will be held on Tuesday, January 31 and begin at 7 p.m. The speaker of the hour is Dr. Richard Alley, Evan Pugh Professor in the Department of Geosciences at Penn State.

The event will be held in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center in the Memorial Lounge. Light refreshments will be provided. Dr. Richard Alley has authored more than 240-refereed scientific publications about the relationships between Earth’s cryosphere and global climate change. Alley has received many awards including the Heinz Award, the Seligman Crystal and was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2008. His many research interests include glaciology, ice and climate, sea level change and abrupt climate change.

Discern PSU is an organization dedicated to helping students consider their beliefs and values when interacting with their current or future careers.
