Update: Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf Speaks At THON 2017

Update: Governor Wolf spoke on stage at THON 2017. “Because of what you’re doing, we are now able to spend money on groundbreaking research to try ot come up with cures,” Wolf said. “I just want to say your Pennsylvania family is really proud of you.”

Wolf then led what was probably the largest “We Are” chant of THON 2017 so far.

Original Story: Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is at THON! He hasn’t spoken to the crowd yet, but he’s roaming around the main event level floor, arguably the best way to experience what THON is all about. He also visited Penn State last week to speak at Happy Valley LaunchBox.

Wolf tweeted this earlier today:

While the THON families and dancers might not be the most entertained by the governor, it’s impressive to see him supporting a cause that students of his state’s flagship school (Penn State, of course) care so much about.

Last year, Governor Wolf and Senator Bob Casey tweeted their support for THON. Casey attended THON 2017, as well, earlier this weekend.

We’ll keep you updated if Wolf takes the stage to address the crowd of dancers, volunteers, THON families, and spectators.
