[Live Blog] 2017 Blue-White Game

Good afternoon, Nittany Lion fans, welcome back to Penn State football for the 2017 Blue-White Game. The annual spring game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network at 3:00 p.m. We’ll have you covered all day long with live updates throughout the game, including analysis, photos, tweets, and more. Here’s the media information you’ll need and here are our staff predictions for the day’s star performer.

Fourth Quarter

0:04 — Stevens throws his third touchdown pass of the game to Juwan Johnson. Franklin lets the clock run out before Davis can kick the extra point and Blue wins 26-0.

0:22 — Stevens throws an incomplete to pass to Hamilton in the end zone. Two different near scoring opportunities this drive for the redshirt sophomore.

1:57 — Stevens has Blue driving with under two minutes to play. He just overthrew a ball from his own 46-yard line to Irvin Charles inside the ten.

6:57 — Stevens hits Polk for a 31-yard touchdown and Blue has opened this game up to 20-0.

Third Quarter

0:00 — After three, Blue leads White 13-0.

0:36 — Stevens to Robinson for a nine-yard touchdown. Tyler Davis converted the extra point and Blue now leads 13-0.

3:15 — Stevens found Thompkins for a 50-yard pickup to move the ball well into White territory.

7:16 — Stevens put together a nice drive but not before a trick play where Andre Robinson threw a pass off a pitch was picked off by TJ Johnson.

11:00 — Tommy Stevens relieves McSorley of his duties to start the second half.

Second Quarter

0:07 — McSorley got the ball to the White five-yard line but couldn’t score. Davis knocked down his second field goal of the afternoon to extend Blue’s lead to 6-0 at the half.

0:41 — Another three-and-out for Zembiec and White. McSorley still on the field for Blue as the first half is nearing its conclusion.

1:16 — As I say that, McSorley throws an interception inside the ten to Ayron Monroe, who returns the ball well inside Blue territory. A penalty however brings the ball back to the White 11-yard line.

1:49 — McSorley looking better on this drive. He completed a first down pass to Holland for 20 yards, then scrambled for another new set of downs, and nearly had a 40+ yard completion to Thompkins.

5:01 — Third straight three-and-out for White. Jake Zembiec has been off to a slow start today, 2-of-6 for 14 yards.

6:43 — Andre Robinson was tackled for a loss and Blue gets stopped on 4th and two.

First Quarter

2:13 — Koa Farmer with a nice, athletic pass deflection while blitzing Zembiec.

2:42 — Mr. Automatic picks up where he left off last year. Tyler Davis good from 43 yards out and Blue leads 3-0 in the first quarter.

5:39 — McSorley found Juwan Johnson for a 16-yard gain on third-and-long. First-and-ten for Blue at the 41-yard line.

8:33 — Three-and-out for Jake Zembiec and White. Trace McSorley under center for Blue.

11:00 — Blue won the toss and deferred. Brandon Polk returns to kickoff for White to the 25 yard-line.
