Rece Davis Gets His Ice Cream, Climbs With Us

Noted ice cream lover Rece Davis called and Penn State basketball answered.

On Monday, the first day of the #GameDayPSU campaign, a fan pleaded with Davis to bring his GameDay crew to Penn State by wooing him with the legendary Creamery ice cream. Rather than waiting until October 21 and in the unfortunate event that GameDay didn’t end up coming to Happy Valley, Penn State basketball took matters into its own hands and sent him the bribe-worthy ice cream, because if there’s anything that makes a convincing sales pitch, it’s ice cream.

A tweet Tuesday night documented the steps of picking out a half-gallon of vanilla ice cream, packing it with dry ice, printing Davis’ address, and loading the precious cargo to the Creamery truck.

When Davis voiced his thanks, he received a shoutout from none other than Pat Chambers, who made another effort to get the ESPN personality to enjoy his ice cream where it tastes best: in Happy Valley, where ice cream moves from cow to cone in just three days.

In case plain ol’ vanilla doesn’t do it for Davis, he can try the Creamery’s many other options next week. One Twitter user is trying to give him some ideas for his next order.
