THON Nearly Triples Target For First Goal-Oriented Campaign

THON launched its first goal-oriented fundraising campaign last week in the seven days leading up to its 100 Days ‘Til THON celebration. Officially titled “One Day We Will Dance In Celebration,” the “One Day” campaign asked participants, “What will you do one day?”

THON’s goal was to raise $100,000 in just one week — instead, the organization raised $292,877.11, nearly tripling the campaign’s original target. The total was revealed on Old Main Lawn following the annual Human Picture, which spelled “dream” this year.

“We’re all very excited with the results of the campaign! I think I speak for everyone when I say the results completely blew us away and exceeded all of our expectations,” THON 2018 Executive Director Andrew Smith said. “One Day shows what can happen when the entire THON Community mobilizes towards one goal.”

The “One Day” campaign is tangible evidence of THON’s shift in its fundraising culture following the end of canning and outreach weekends this fall.

“This is something that we hope will become an annual fundraising push for all of THON and we’re very optimistic to see what the future holds for the campaign,” Smith said. “Thank you to the entire THON Community, whether you supported the campaign as a student, donor, or alumni, we could not have reached our goal without your support.”
